Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Taxi Hero: Crazy Fast Cab Rush (“Taxi Hero”, “the game”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. The game is made and published by Darko Jovanovski (“we”, “us”).
The short version: there is no account and no sign-in. Your progress lives on your device. We use Google's analytics and crash-reporting tools to understand how the game is played and to fix bugs, an ad network to show optional ads, and the app stores to handle purchases. We never see your name, e-mail, contacts, photos, precise location or payment card.

1. What we collect
Taxi Hero collects no personal information you type in. The custom licence plate you can enter in the garage is stored on your device only and is never sent to us. What the game does send, automatically, falls into three groups:
Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)
- Gameplay events — the screens you open, the buttons you tap, shifts started and finished, fares delivered, taxis and items unlocked, ads watched, purchases made, settings changed. Events carry gameplay values (for example the fare amount or the taxi id), never free text.
- Player properties — the taxi you drive, shifts played, level, taxis owned, whether you have bought anything, whether ads are removed, whether you are a VIP subscriber, and your daily streak.
- Device and app information — device model and manufacturer, operating system and version, screen size, language, app version, install and first-open time, an app-instance identifier generated for your installation, and, where your device settings allow it, the device advertising identifier.
- Approximate location — country and region derived from your IP address by Google. The game never requests your precise (GPS) location.
Crash reports (Google Firebase Crashlytics)
- When the game crashes or reports an error: the stack trace, the state of the app (the last screens opened and recent gameplay steps, as “breadcrumbs”), device model, OS version, free memory and storage, orientation, whether the device is rooted or jailbroken, and a Crashlytics installation identifier.
Advertising (Unity LevelPlay — ironSource Ads and Unity Ads)
- Device advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID or Apple IDFA, subject to your device settings), IP address, device model, OS version, language, time zone, app version, and how you interact with ads (impressions, clicks, videos completed, rewards granted).
- If you chose Personalised ads on the in-game “Ads & Privacy” card, the ad network may use this data to pick ads for you. If you chose Basic, ads are served without personalisation (see section 4).
2. Why we collect it
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (EU/UK) |
|---|---|---|
| Running the game and remembering your progress | Local save data (on device only) | Performance of the contract (our Terms) |
| Understanding how the game is played so we can improve it — which screens are confusing, where players stop, what gets used | Analytics events, player properties, device info | Legitimate interest in improving the game |
| Finding and fixing crashes and bugs | Crash reports | Legitimate interest in a working product |
| Showing ads that fund the free game | Ad data listed above | Consent for personalised ads (your in-game choice); legitimate interest for non-personalised ads |
| Processing purchases, subscriptions and restoring them | Purchase receipts from Google Play / the App Store | Performance of the contract |
| Answering support requests | Whatever you send us by e-mail | Legitimate interest / consent |
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. The data above goes to the service providers that make the game work, each acting under its own privacy policy:
| Provider | Service | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC | Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play (distribution, billing) | policies.google.com/privacy · firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Unity Technologies / ironSource Ltd. | LevelPlay ad mediation, ironSource Ads, Unity Ads | unity.com/legal/privacy-policy · is.com/privacy-policy |
| Apple Inc. | App Store distribution and in-app purchases | apple.com/legal/privacy |
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of players or ourselves.
4. Ads and your choices
Taxi Hero shows short interstitial ads between shifts and optional rewarded videos (for example to continue a shift or double your cash). Rewarded videos are always your choice.
- In the game: the first time ads are relevant, the “Ads & Privacy” card asks whether we may use your advertising id for personalised ads. You can change your answer any time in Settings → Ad Privacy (Personalised / Basic). “Basic” means non-personalised ads.
- On Android: Settings → Google → Ads lets you delete or reset your advertising id and opt out of ads personalisation.
- On iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking lets you refuse tracking permission; Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising controls Apple's own personalisation.
- Remove Ads / VIP: the one-time “Remove Ads” purchase and the VIP subscription switch off interstitial ads. Rewarded videos remain available and optional.
5. In-app purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We receive a purchase token or receipt that tells us what was bought so we can unlock it and restore it on reinstall; we never receive your card number, billing address or bank details. Subscriptions renew through your store account and are cancelled there (Google Play → Subscriptions; iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions). Refunds follow the store's rules.
6. Data that stays on your device
Your progress — cash, taxis, paints and props, records, streaks, settings, your custom plate — is stored on your device only. There is no account and no cloud backup by us (your platform's own device backup may include it). Uninstalling the game deletes it. We cannot recover lost progress.
7. How long we keep data
- Analytics: event and user data is kept by Google Firebase for up to 14 months from collection, then deleted or aggregated. Aggregated statistics (for example “average shift length”) contain nothing that identifies you and may be kept longer.
- Crash reports: kept by Google Firebase for 90 days.
- Ad data: kept by the ad network under its own policy (linked above).
- Support e-mails: kept as long as needed to help you, then deleted within 12 months.
8. Children
Taxi Hero is a cartoon game that anyone can enjoy, but it is not directed at children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. The game has no chat, no social features, no user-generated content that is shared, and no way to enter personal details. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland, California and other US states, Brazil), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your supervisory authority.
Because we hold no account, we identify your data only by the app-instance and advertising identifiers described above. To exercise a right, e-mail us (section 12). Practical routes that work immediately:
- Delete analytics and crash data for your installation: e-mail us your request; we will delete it through Firebase's user-deletion tools. Uninstalling the game also stops all collection.
- Reset the link between you and past ad data: reset your device's advertising id (see section 4).
- Withdraw ad-personalisation consent: Settings → Ad Privacy → Basic.
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for “targeted advertising” in the sense of US state privacy laws beyond what you choose on the in-game card. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Security and international transfers
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) to Google and Unity/ironSource, whose services run in data centres in the United States and elsewhere. Google and Unity rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms for transfers out of the EEA/UK. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we keep what we collect to the minimum described here.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters — new data, a new partner, a new purpose — we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you inside the game before the change applies. Earlier versions are available on request.
